Chiefs in the Western Region have praised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running mate, for his critical role in the effective implementation of the NPP’s hallmark Free Senior High School program (Free SHS).

Obrempong Hima Dekyi XIV, the Paramount Chief of the Upper Dixcove Traditional Area, specifically thanked Dr. Opoku Prempeh, often known as Napo, for his dedication and enthusiasm in carrying out the strategy.

His words were: “These qualities make you the ideal candidate to support Dr. Bawumia’s selfless leadership and bold solutions for the country’s future.”

He stated that chiefs in the area used to receive numerous requests from individuals seeking financial and other supports for their wards who had obtained admission into various Senior High

But we are no longer burdened as a result of this enormous relaxation. We firmly endorse you as Ahantaman because we think you have what it takes to stand with Dr. Bawumia,” he emphasized.

Following his historic unveiling in Kumasi, the Ashanti Region’s capital, Dr. Opoku Prempeh spent a day visiting the Western Region.

His official introduction to the traditional leaders and request for their blessings for the next general election included the visit, which was primarily intended to interact with the chiefs and traditional leaders in the area.

The running mate visited the paramount chiefs of Tetrete Okuamoah Sekyim II, the Wassa Amenfi Traditional Area; Obrempong Hema Dekyi XIV, the Upper Dixcove Traditional Area; Awulae Angamatu-Gyan II, the Gwira Traditional Area; and Nana Kobina Nketsia V, the Essikado Traditional Area, as part of his engagements.

Dr. Opoku Prempeh conveyed gratitude for the cordial welcome extended by the customary

leaders.

He emphasized that strengthening the inclusion of traditional authority in national development would be a top priority for the incoming NPP government under Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

He requested that the traditional leaders offer prayers for him and Dr. Bawumia as they tour the nation presenting their positions and outlining the party’s plans for the Ghanaian people.

The NPP running mate, Atsa Amenfi, restated his assertion that Ghana has experienced greater progress under President Akufo-Addo’s current NPP government.

He emphasized that he was expressing the truth and clarified that his remarks were not intended to disparage any of the nation’s previous presidents.

“It is now the tendency of some Ghanaians or politicians to disparage those who tell the truth and commend those who lie,” he said.

Following his outdoore on Tuesday, July 9, the NPP running mate sprang into action, launching a fierce campaign for his boss, Dr. Bawumia.
