National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Henry Nana Boakye, commonly known as Nana B, praised Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s running partner.
In comparison to Prof. Naana Jane Opoku Agyemang, John Dramani Mahama’s running mate, Nana B argued that NAPO’s achievements and abilities significantly outweigh those of his opponent, underlining his extraordinary credentials and strengths as a candidate.
Nana B emphasized NAPO’s great leadership qualities, which he feels will be critical in securing a victory for Dr Bawumia in the 2024 general elections, harnessing NAPO’s strengths to support their ticket and achieve a resounding success.
“His outstanding leadership style resulted in the adoption of free SHS, which saw an unprecedented number of students enroll in the educational system.
“He also demonstrated excellence and precision in handling the Energy sector.” This is the level of leadership that NAPO offers. Although both running mates have served as Education Ministers in the past, Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang has fewer accolades than NAPO, according to Nana B on Peace FM.
Dr. Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) was accused of being haughty, but Nana B refuted this claim by saying that his assertiveness was misunderstood. He commended NAPO for having a superb work culture that made him an excellent Education Minister.
The National Organizer of the NPP also attacked John Mahama, the flagbearer of the NDC, for supposedly insulting Ghanaians more than any other politician. If the NDC really felt that NAPO was haughty, they were challenged to call an emergency congress to remove Mahama.
“As I have repeatedly stated, NAPO’s audacity, confidence, and assertiveness may be interpreted as conceit. No, he is just audacious and self-assured. He works with a superb work ethic. He is among Ghana’s greatest education ministers ever because of his work ethic.
“NAPO’s competence cannot ever be questioned by the NDC. They will never be able to dispute that he is unattractive. When people disagree with him on some of his assertions, all they can say about him is that he is a haughty man.
“If that is the foundation for the NDC’s decision-making, then they must call an urgent congress to choose a new flagbearer, as former President John Mahama has insulted more Ghanaians than any other political figure in Ghanaian history.”
Nana B’s comments are in reaction to a statement issued by Arko Gunn, the NDC’s deputy director of communications, who had earlier said that NAPO’s purported haughtiness presents a serious obstacle for the NPP. Nana B’s remarks were intended to counter Gunn’s assertions and uphold NAPO’s integrity.
