Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama says he will not continue the the legacy of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

In a social media post on his X platform, the Former President says “Of course, I will not protect your ‘legacy’ of corruption, misgovernance, arrogance, ineptitude, bankrupt economy, increased unemployment, and pushing more of our people into the poverty bracket.”

His response comes at the back of the recent comments made by President Akufo-Addo claiming that a vote for the former President would undermine the progress achieved during his administration and jeopardise the nation’s trajectory.

“When the time is up for the voting, our job is simple. The person I defeated and my work since I took over, seems not to please him, I cannot hand over power to such a person. He will destroy whatever we have done when he comes”, Akufo-Addo said.

President Akufo-Addo daid these while addressing supporters at a mini rally in Doboro in the Greater Accra region during a visit to the premises of Blue Skies Limited.

Mr. Mahama has criticized many actions by the Akufo-Addo led government for mismanagement of the affairs of the country with a more recent one on the recent issues of corruption in the NPP government.
