Nana Poku Piesie, popularly known as Kwabena, has been taken into custody by the Ghana Police Service after she was caught on camera confessing to sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl.

The suspect is in custody and helping the police with their investigations, according to a statement posted by the police on social media.

“We wish to assure the public that the suspect will be taken through the due process of the law,” the police stated.

Widespread anger followed, with calls for his arrest coming from several individuals and people like Lydia Forson and Michael Owusu Addo, better known as Sarkodie, who demanded that the police hold the Nana Poku accountable.

Sharing her opinion about the issue on X, Lydia Forson wrote: “If I speak on this video now, you will say I hate men. You will ignore that this man openly bragged about sleeping with a 14 year old on air. You will instead focus on my outrage; or make it the 14 year olds fault for allowing this.”

Sarkodie, obviously outraged by the video, reposted Lydia’s comment with the caption: “I sense no hate here he should not be walking around freely.”

Speaking on a Sompa FM radio program, the man describes how he had a sexual relationship with the young girl from the time she was in primary school until the end of her high school career.

The man acknowledged that he was suffering from the consequences of his conduct at the moment and mentioned that a teacher was using similar tactics to have his way with his [the offender’s] daughter.

I had sex with a fourteen-year-old girl a few years back. In Dormaa Ahenkro, her father is a prosperous man, he discovered.

“After my daughter reached that age, I noticed that one of her teachers had also begun making

advances toward her sexually. I told my wife about it, and she reminded me about my sinful act with the other girl,” He explained how karma benefits those who commit evil deeds.

This man, who has presumably taught before, claimed to have broken the 14-year-old schoolgirl’s virginity and to have had sex with her through extra classes.

“A person who naturally or unnaturally carnally knows a child under sixteen years of age, whether with or without the consent, commits a criminal offence and is liable on summary conviction to a term of imprisonment of not less than seven years and not more than twenty-five years,” according to Section 101 of the Criminal Code Act 29, 1960.
