Founder and Vice President of Accra Business School, Bishop Gideon Titi-Ofei has praised Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education, for boosting Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana.
He explained that STEM education, which is a driving force in global industry, would make Ghanaian youth more employable and acceptable around the world.
Bishop Titi-Ofei, who offered the compliment during the Accra Business School’s 16th congregation, urged the government to continue spreading STEM education throughout the country.
A degree and diploma certificate were given to students who had successfully finished their courses of study at the institution during the event, which had as its theme “Navigating future challenges: the role of higher education in emerging economies.”
The Free Senior High School (FSHS) policy, he said, was a revolutionary one that brought together the children of the rich and the poor to study together, regardless of their disparate socioeconomic backgrounds.
Bishop Titi-Ofei applauded the administration for initiating the policy aimed at directing the country’s destiny.
The days of sending kids outside of the classroom to pay for school fees are finished. kids waste a significant amount of valuable instructional time traveling to pay for their fees, which ultimately damaged their performance,” He said.
“Today, the child of a cocoa farmer sits next to the child of a banker in the same prestigious school, studying together because of the FSHS policy,” praising it as one of the best things that had ever occurred to the country.
The Minister of Education praised the school’s founder for his vision and willingness to
strengthen the country’s workforce.
He emphasized that the government would continue to work with stakeholders and welcome all private sector actors in education.
The Bosomtwe Member of Parliament, Dr. Adutwum, encouraged students to take advantage of the favorable conditions the government has established for youth economic empowerment.
“To be clear, we are not where we were in the past, but we are also not where we want to be.” We have achieved a number of successes that, if maintained over time, will quicken the growth of the economy in this nation.”
