The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has committed to solve unfulfilled financial pledges made by the government to investors during his future administration.
While noting the negative impact of unfulfilled obligations on investor trust, Mahama maintained his commitment to upholding contract sanctity.
Speaking at the Foreign Direct Investment series in Accra, John Mahama emphasized the importance of championing policies targeted at altering Ghana’s economic landscape.
“The sanctity of contracts will be upheld by a new NDC government. I know many of you have been waiting for this—properly performed contracts that benefit both the investor and the people of Ghana.
“A number of investors have expressed dissatisfaction with the government’s unwillingness to fulfill unfulfilled financial obligations concerning delivered goods and services.
“We will take inventory of everything and our government will work urgently to resolve all these payment issues through a system that will be transparent and timely, just as happened when I was president,” the president said in reference to the significant issue at hand.
